Description
The Conseil National de Sécurité or Belgian National Security Council is a body of the Belgian Government. It is composed of: the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Ministers, as well as the ministers responsible for Justice, Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs.
This body is responsible for determining Belgium's security and intelligence policies, developing political priorities implemented through action plans or decisions.
Among its measures implemented to achieve this objective is the implementation of a Belgian National Sanctions List. This list, based on the normative heritage of the United Nations, requires:
- freezing the assets of the subjects included in the list,
- notifying the Federal Public Service of Finance about those frozen accounts, as well as any information that might be had about individuals subject to sanctions.
