Description

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade — DFAT — or Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Australian Government, is one of the departments incorporated into the Australian Government Cabinet. It is responsible for foreign policy, promoting Australian interests on an international level and thus safeguarding its national security interests

This body is in charge of publishing and managing the Consolidated List of Australian Sanctions. This includes individuals and entities sanctioned through Australian legal system.

The Consolidated List of Australian Sanctions implements two categories of sanctions:

  • those issued by the United Nations Security Council,
  • and the sanctions published by the Australian Government as a development of its foreign policy
