General Directorate of the Treasury

Description

The Direction générale du Trésor or General Directorate of the Treasury of the French Republic is an organ dependent on the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Industry of the French Republic. Among other functions, it acts as an advisory body to the French Government, defending the economic interests of the State through the supervision of the economic departments of different embassies, and providing representation in international organisations such as the World Bank or the G20.

In application of the Code Monétaire et Financier, the General Directorate of the Treasury is responsible for managing and publishing the Registre national des gels; the French national asset freezing system.

This system compiles the entities and individuals affected by financial countermeasures whether decided by the United Nations, the European Union or the French Government.
