Regulatory framework
Introduction
Honduras, like other countries in its surroundings, also embraces in its regulatory framework provisions on prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing.
Among these, the fundamental rule will be the Special Law against Money Laundering, Decree number 144-2014.Financial Intelligence Unit
Honduras also includes within its institutional structure the figure of the Financial Intelligence Unit. The Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF), a department attached to the Presidency of the National Commission of Banks and Insurance (CNBS), is based on the prevention regulations to exercise its functions in all the territory of Honduras.

Obligated subjects
The legal framework of Honduras in the area of money laundering prevention and countering the financing of terrorism establishes certain individuals and entities as obliged entities based on the vulnerable activities they carry out.
Among these subjects, financial entities and banks stand out, as well as insurance companies, pawn shops, lawyers and notaries, and mutual guarantee companies.

Introduction
The regulatory framework for politically exposed persons in Honduras is provided by prevention laws and development regulations. In particular, the Circular 650/10-05-2010 issued by the National Commission of Banks and Insurance should be taken into account.
This circular establishes a regulatory framework for dealing with politically exposed persons. However, this circular does not outline a definitive definition of the concept of PEP
