Description
The Office of Foreign Assets Control — OFAC — or Office of Foreign Assets Control is an entity of the United States Government, under the Department of the Treasury.
Its aim is to apply trade and economic sanctions resulting from US foreign policy and national security risks in relation to risk jurisdictions, terrorist regimes, international drug trafficking, etc.
Among the sanctions programmes included in its repository are financial countermeasures aimed at Venezuela for its human rights abuses; Iran for its armament programmes or oil policies, or entities and subjects related to drug trafficking.
